ABOUT US

I’d like to welcome you to

Caz’s Kiddies In The Country.

I have offered a home from home environment for little people from my house, as a childminder, for 13 years. Over those years my reputation has grown, and I have never had to advertise. Our client base is generated by referrals from previous satisfied parents; the best advertisement anyone could ask for.

In 2019 I was given an opportunity to expand and move my business, so a few months later than expected (due to lockdown), I have opened in a property that was formally a childrens nursery in Athelstaneford. On Tuesday 1st December 2020 Caz’s Kiddies In The Country was established as a children’s day care.

I will be continuing with my ethos of childcare by nurturing children through play. We are not an educational establishment but a play care setting. Children will be learning from each other, ourselves as their carers, and the environment around them. Children are welcome to join us from 6 months to not yet attending primary school.

OUR ETHOS

“Childhood is not a race to see how quick a child can read, write or count. Childhood is a small window of time for them to learn and develop at their pace and be the best they can be”

Here at Caz’s Kiddies in the Country that’s what we offer, we want to give your child experiences and opportunities, in order for them to grow to their full potential.

We feel it is important for young children to be in a homely environment where they can interact well by building their communication skills, expressing their individuality and grow in confidence for their future.  We want to meet their needs and in our small setting we can.

We are not a nursery, we are “good old fashioned childcare”. Their family away from home and if they feel like its home, we’re doing our job!

This is not a nursery but a house full of toys, books, jigsaws, games, a large child friendly garden that they can enjoy with their friends of all ages.

All the children get to play and be together, this helps little ones watch and learn, and the older ones learning to be role models, helping with responsibility and having compassion.

There are times the children will be in age group areas as not all activites would be suitable for little ones.

The garden is open to them all as they need space and fresh air.

We encourage independence, freedom within limits and natural development for each child.

A loving and secure home full of friends who care about your child’s needs.

Observing children’s interests, listening to their voices and understanding their ways of interpreting the world.

We encourage exploration and experimentation supporting your child always.

We consider it an honour to take care of your child and be part of their learning journey. Hand in hand as parents and carers we’ll develop your child to be the best they can be.

Taking away structured educational development that they encounter through pre school nursery and school and taking it all back to basics through play, love and feeling safe and secure.

For very young children the homely environment is a better start in life.
